About the Author

Sherri Maret is a former English teacher/library media specialist. Lela and the Butterflies with co-author Tim Maret was released in 2020 and shares their love for butterflies and butterfly conservation. Her book, The Cloud Artist: A Choctaw Tale, published by The RoadRunner Press was a finalist for First Nation Communities Read Award, Oklahoma Book Award, and Writers' League of Texas Book Award. Thomas Hilley is an illustrator living in Oklahoma. He earned a BFA in Graphic Design with an Illustration emphasis from Oklahoma State University. He has illustrated several children's books as well as instructional and promotional materials. Thomas crafted a style that uses scratchboard and draws inspiration from old woodcut prints. He has recently shifted to working digitally in a style that captures the same spirit of his traditional work while also opening up many new possibilities.
